PhD Fellowship: Retention of lipophilie drug compounds within nano-particulate drug carriers

Job description:

The PhD fellow will join our efforts to design and test novel methods for investigations of the release of poorly soluble drugs from nano-carriers. The PhD fellow will use dialysis and size-exclusion fractionation techniques and apply the newly developed Flow field-flow fractionation in the context of drug release studies.

The fellowship is part of a Phospholipid Research Center-financed research project

The qualified applicant holds a Master’s degree in pharmacy and has a documented background in advanced separation techniques. Hands-on training in analytical techniques as well as documented experience with flow field flow fractionation are compulsory. Experience in drug nano-carriers is advantageous.

The PhD fellow will participate in collaborational studies, partly carried out at the site of our international partners. The PhD fellow will, as part of his/her compulsory duties, assist the editorial office of European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Place of work: Drug Transport & delivery Group (Professor Martin Brandl), Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark. The Drug Transport Group offers a strong international research environment in oral drug delivery and nano-drug carrier design.

Application, salary, etc.:

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement of 1 October 2008 on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
