Associate professor in biostatistics
Department of Biostatistics, Institute of Public Health, invites applications for a position as associate professor with start as soon as possible.
The Department of Biostatistics conducts general biostatistical research and methodological development in biostatistics, undertakes teaching of students at various educations, undergraduate as well as postgraduate, and offers biostatistical advice to staff and students in all disciplines of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The main research areas of the department are statistical modeling in twin and family studies, analysis of time dependent data, demography, high-dimensional data analysis and functional data analysis, and methods for analysis of longitudinal data.
The position requires research in biostatistics, including publication and scientific communication as well as research based teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Part of the teaching obligation is replaced by biostatistical service consulting. The position involves professional development, participation in the scientific development of the professional area, education of researchers, pedagogical guidance and supervision of assistant professors as well as professional review- and assessment tasks. Appointees as associate professor will be presumed to have a documented scientific production on an international level as well as documented teaching qualifications.
The candidate must have a strong background in biostatistics and in biostatistical research and preference will be given to applicants with a scientific profile that will strengthen and expand the current research areas of the department. The focus will be on scientific production at an international level in statistical methods that combine methodological depth with convincing applications as well as teaching experience (also of non-statisticians), and consulting and collaboration with empirical researchers.
